MLBAM is seeking a Senior Mobile QA Engineer for an immediate opening. The Senior Mobile QA Engineer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of QA activities on mobile applications and services. A successful candidate must have 4 plus years of experience supporting mobile applications and services.
Responsibilities:
• Accountability for planning and managing test activities, creating detailed test plans and performing tests
• Work with other QA Engineers and Developers to ensure overall stystem reliability, performance and quality
• Work closely with business owners to understand and test for business requirements
• Manage bug tracking database
• Develop Test Plan and Timeline; work with Project Manager to identify project risks; define Exit Criteria for each Testing Cycle
• Work closely to understand and test for capacity planning and fault tolerance
• Test the application via Black Box, Regression, Release, Stress and Negative testing methods
• Provide direction for all resources during the testing cycle
• Ensure that all aspects of the application have proper testing coverage
• Research industry best practices for software testing packages and processes
• Assist developers in implementing unit tests
• Assist in developing and obtaining user requirements
• Assist Customer Support with any issues that could not be resolved
Required Skills:
• Expertise in functional testing
• Experience in testing mobile applications, including some or not all of:
o Text messaging applications
o Mobile web applications
o Mobile client applications on platforms such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Palm WebOS, J2ME, etc.
• Experience with application submissions to wireless carriers, aggregators and NSTL
• Knowledge of mobile devices and industry trends
• Knowledge of MMA guidelines and carrier requirements a plus
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Experience with Automated Testing tools (SilkTest, Selenium, etc) a plus
• Ability to identify critical or complex areas in the system and test accordingly
• Ability to work flexible hours during critical project delivery times
• Detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Desire to collaborate with others in a team environment
